All of it was memorable starting with driving up to the beautiful location, being welcomed by host Jos, who was incredibly kind and helpful, relaxing in the palms overlooking the water, and taking the interesting side trips that Jos set up for me.
(more)Kerala was fantastic, the most memorable part was visiting a bird sanctuary... we arrived a this beautiful palace deep in the backwater set on a lake and were taken round in a small boat along water hyacinth lined expanses to see snake bird (darters) different types of kingfisher it was a stunning lake ride. (more)The most memorable parts were enjoying cooking lessons with a bat flying over head. Scrubbing baby elephants clean with a coconut shell. Eating the most amazing food in a cosy family atmosphere. (more)The most memorable part of my holiday was being in such a calm, peaceful and gentle environment and experiencing the culture of a country that was completely different to that in the UK. Similarly being quietly rowed through the backwaters in a small canoe, seeing the life of the local (human and animal!) residents was truly memorable.
