The most memorable part of our trip was most likely the scenery we loved the mountains and woodlands. The next was the food as Nick is no doubt an excellent chef and Dasha a specialist with deserts.
(more)The first sight of the view from the balcony was amazing - and it just carried on being great. Walking up the peak was also great - we saw ibex! Fabulous! Relaxing, interesting and inspiring. Why? Because this holiday is so wonderful I'd rather keep it a secret! Situated on the southern slopes of Mt Batakaru in remotest Bali, this place is a pocket of paradise, far removed from the ravages of the 21st century. Having spent a week there I did not want to leave.

Matt and Caroline made arrangements for us to ride, snowshoe and ski. We had never skied before and had thought that we were too old to try. However we went and took a couple of lessons and we loved it. (more)The entire experience was an absolute blast. The kindness of the staff - the peaceful location - the delicious food - the interesting history of the place- the wonderful antique furniture - the eccentric fellow travellers.... (more)Imlil was absolutely breathtaking, everywhere you looked was stunning, the accommodation, scenery, mountains, people were all incredible. We arrived on a very cold afternoon, by evening snow was falling and by morning there was 4 inches of snow! (more)A particular highlight was the welcome we received from Carrie and Colin. They bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we could possibly want, including maps, guide books and a lift to and from Fowey in the evening.

The bedroom we chose was magic and I'll never forget going down the escarpment garden to the cliff walk at the bottom - that was brilliant. This accommodation completely excelled itself with the hamper and goodies that were provided. The most memorable part was getting to the top of the mountain to see the amazing views and feeling very proud that despite bike injuries (minor) I made it to the top!
