We'll remember the brightness of the stars on clear nights with no light pollution, watching bats flying around our lodge at sunset, waking late because it was so quiet and comfortable and the blackout blinds were so good, the ruby red cows really glowing like rubies at sunset, being content to just potter around the farm in the sunshine without getting bored. Memorable parts? A holiday in Chamonix is always fantastic. Having the apartment gave us the freedom to do our own thing. Climbing the North Ridge of Le Buet was the best day for us. Tips? The apartment is really well equipped for sleeping and cooking. It's also quite spacious if there are just 2 of you. No essentials like a corkscrew or coffee maker though.. Local benefits? We loved everything though the hospitality of our host Frank Tabone really made the difference - sea kayaking to quiet beaches and coves, being taught to make bread in a local bakery and eating some amazing Gozitan food with him really set this holiday apart. (more)Sarah Black

The setting of the cottage itself and views from the hot tub were most memorable. We were in Rose, the smaller cottage, and the views were beautiful...The whole family, including boys of 10 and 5, loved it. Being on a croft with the animals made it extra special. (more)Susanna Dermody

We had a brilliant time and it was everything we had hoped for. The accommodation deserves its 5 stars and is a very relaxing place. We prefer self catering as it provides the flexibility required with the baby, but appreciated the option to have homemade food prepared for us. (more)Paul Bradshaw
