The location itself was very quiet and peaceful, but only a short journey to the facilities of the nearest town. It was amusing to be greeted by the free range chickens each time we went out.
(more)We could not have hoped for a better holiday. This was our first time in Sardinia, our first farm holiday, away from the beaten tracks. We spent a week and rested so much that we feel as if we've been away for months. (more)Very enjoyable stay, great accommodation, very friendly hosts. (more)The peace and tranquillity were sublime. A lovely property with all the mod cons (even a coffee machine) however in wonderful rural surrounds. The garden of the property was a delight. The countryside of the Loire was beautiful, the village a short bike ride away. Magnificent! We had a wonderful time in Lubrin. John was an excellent host - informative and very attentive. The accommodation was outstanding value for money. The gardens and pool were a real delight. We will definitely return.
(more)We loved the location of the straw bale cabin, right in the middle of a working farm, beautiful countryside all around. The only noises the sounds of the animals and birds. The most memorable parts were being able to catch public transport to most places with a toddler; the fantastic location of the guesthouse; and the great innkeepers & their fantastic hospitality. (more)There were lots of memorable moments:- from lovely walks, beautiful surroundings of the hotel, really lovely owners, Ilaria and Derek, who couldn't have been more helpful, beautiful starry night sky and lots of different types of wild birds to be seen nearby.
(more)We were intrigued to stay in a house made of straw bales and to see how recycling/ reuse can be put into practice and good effect.- we were not disappointed! We found the photo albums showing the building of the house really interesting.

We enjoyed every part of our holiday. The food was exceptional and the hotel could not be faulted in any way. We had two fantastic days out with Peter Jones a local bird expert who showed us all the wonderful birds and wildlife in the area. The Gambian people were probably the most memorable part of a trip which included many exciting moments including spotting amazing birds, holding snakes, watching the fiddler crabs in the mangrove swamps and seeing wild baboons.
