Memorable parts? Very pleasant time on Sidmouth and Lyme Regis seafronts (easily accessible from the farmhouse) Tips? Buy all provisions at Greendale farm shop (a short drive away, open until 8pm), which has a superb fish counter. Memorable parts? The hospitality shown by the hosts Rebecca and Andy, who welcome you warmly into their home. The meals were fabulous and the packed lunches the best yet. Tips? Stay longer than we did, do more walking than we did, it will be worth it. Local benefits? We'll remember the brightness of the stars on clear nights with no light pollution, watching bats flying around our lodge at sunset, waking late because it was so quiet and comfortable and the blackout blinds were so good, the ruby red cows really glowing like rubies at sunset, being content to just potter around the farm in the sunshine without getting bored. The view from each window spectacular and so close to the loch that it was almost like being on a boat at times! Views changed with the stillness of the water or with the time of day and weather. Memorable parts? We were intrigued to stay in a house made of straw bales and to see how recycling/ reuse can be put into practice and good effect.- we were not disappointed! Memorable parts? Beautiful walks along the Pembrokeshire coast where we saw lots of wildlife including choughs, peregrine falcons and dolphins. Tips? Gill and Neil make you feel very at home and I was very well looked after. I even got a ride out in the pony and trap one evening - an added bonus! Memorable parts? Making sure that I drove slowly enough NOT to drive into some of the sheep, cattle, deer that like to sit and ruminate on the roads! The glorious autumn sun on the turning leaves. Not New England, but very beautiful. Ambling along the white sandy beaches and having them to myself, more or less! Tips? There were lots of brilliant bits. - Arriving to see how beautiful it was at the cottage. - Settling down in front in the fire, listening to music, reading and sewing. - Trekking through deep peat to see abandoned settlements. - Watching the stars in the completely black sky.
