Festivals!!! Which one is the best? reply to this post
Hi everyone

This year i'm think i'm going to shimmy along to Bestival at the Isle of White. Not only is there a fab line up (MGMT and Fleet Foxes here I come) but some cool DJ's, lots of quirky unusual extras and the countries biggest fancy dress party!

I've been to Isle of White festival before and have friends going to Big Chill, T in the Park and Benicassim in Spain this year.

What is your favourite festival, where is it and why is the best one?

My favourite definitely has to be The End of the Road Festival at the Larmer Tree Gardens in Dorset from 11-13 September.

We've been twice now and are going again this year. The line-up is always intriguing and we come away with lots of new artists to check out (Fleet Foxes are headlining though so some familiar faces). And the food is incredible - the best pies ever from The Pieminister, cream teas served up in vintage China, and organic options galore :) Even free locally-made ice-cream if you're lucky!

It's small and sweet - 5000 max - and very friendly. We've had pretty good weather too both years after rubbish weather for festivals the rest of the year.

Oh, and watch out for the peacocks!

Hi Katie,

Ive been to Larmer Tree Festival a few times (same site) and it is absolutely lush isnt it! The site is so beautiful and its always a really relaxing and chilled weekend- and the peacocks are a nice surreal touch! Never been to End OF The Road though, might have to check it out!

Hi Jennifer,

Do I know you? I'm from Blandford too! We stayed at my mum and dad's in Blandford when we went to the End of the Road Festival this year because I was 7 mths pregnant and didn't fancy camping (!) - and it was only 20 mins down the road.

All details here: [web link] We're hoping to go again next year though we've missed out on the Early Bird tickets unfortunately :(
