In particular, I love the culture architecture and cuisine of Italy , the beaches and friendly faces of the Caribbean and the wild splendour of Canada. There are so many places I want to see.

Travelled independently for years pre-kids, and we've now dragged them along with us ever since... easy places like South Africa and Mexico from 4 months old, to Sabah, Ecuador and the Galapagos and Tanzania in the last few years. They're never too young to get on the road. Dream places - Madagascar, Ethiopia, Gabon and Sierra Leone.

Not as well travelled as I'd like to be :o)! The world is such a big place. My last trip (3 months) took me to India - Delhi - Calcutta overland ... a wonderful experience but to quote Naipaul ... India feels as if she has been rubbed down with an oily cloth every day. 6 months in South America - Peru - Argentina - I shook off the suit (20 years of living in London) and had a feast! An amazing continent - I will return. Every year I head to Thailand and explore another 'little piece' I adore the country, the scenery, the people and their culture. Have explored the US, Malayasia and enjoyed. Scandinavia and various countries in Europe. I now reside in Co Kildare (originate from Dublin) .... I upped sticks, sold the house and returned to the folks & roots having enjoyed London for many years. If I had to name a favourite place it'd be -Connemara, County Galway - to sit by the lake at Kylemore Abbey and soak in the views. The most spectactular place the Atacama desert & salt flats of Uyuni.

I am Bursar of a charity running a residential conference centre in Windsor Great Park, which is so beautiful one hardly needs a holiday. My wife and I love walking, like short bursts of holiday, and loathe crowds. We also adore New Zealand, but have to save money and leave up to go there every four or five years. Our UK favourites are the Northern Lakes, and North Cornwall.

One of our children is about to move to Saudi Arabia, so we are gearing up to travel in the Middle East. Tips will be useful.
