I am a grandmother of four and have travelled independently to many countries since retiring but for the past 4 years I have been returning to Uganda
I have helped a small community in the south west Uganda to open a Guest House that is suitable for volunteers to stay awhile - and then help in the local schools, our own nursery school and with womens groups in the area.
I am now actively looking for volunteers to go out there - and be sure that any money they spend - either at the Lodge (£50 per week for full board & accommodation) will stay within and ultimately help that community

We have three children between the ages of 3 and 9 who are all afflicted with wanderlust. We love the outdoors, especially underwater. We're wild about so many places, but Kri Eco Resort in Raja Ampat, Indonesia is the overall family favorite. I'd love to take them to South America, but know nothing about where would be suitable for them.

I run a small, specialist travel consultancy focusing on responsible travel in South East Asia. I started my SE Asia Odyssey in 1988 with a 5 year travel through the region before starting the company (Symbiosis Expedition Planning) and have lived in Cambodia since 2002. Still travelling the region!

I'm a sustainability consultant with an interest in wildlife and wild places. So far, Africa is my passion with Madagascar and Gabon on my 'can't wait to go' list - I also love the Kruger and I'm just back from a great self drive safari there which was incredible - see my photo album. In 2010, I'm looking forward to seeing the mountain gorillas in the Virungas in Rwanda - I won the trip through entering a random Sunday newspaper competition. Antarctica and South America, in particular Guyana and Patagonia, are also places I'd like to explore.

I work on the helpdesk for responsibletravel.com and must say that i'm more than a little bit obsessed with travel. I normally have at least 3 or 4 holidays in the planning stage at any one time, whether i actually go on any of them is a different matter!

I like to get off the beaten track as much as possible these days try and incorporate some kind of activity in my holidays, whether it be scuba diving (I went on a cavern dive in mexico last year - wow!), kayaking or something involving wildlife. I'm always interested in any unusual holidays. I've currently got my eye on a horse riding holiday in Mongolia - i guess i'll need to learn how to ride first!

My favourite style of travel is volunteering. I've been lucky enough to particate in 3 long volunteering trips in my lifetime. My first was working on an elephant sanctuary in Malaysia, the next was a conservation/teaching and community project in Tsavo NP Kenya, and i've just come back from a marine conservation diving trip in the Philippines.

If anyone has any general questions on volunteering or would like some advice please do get in touch. I love talking about travel so any excuse to whittle on is appreciated!

I have travelled a fair bit in my youth, i seem to take years off at a time, but now that i am older i feel i need better facilities than i used to have. a decent toilet is now a must!
I want to go to Ethopia one of these days
My dream place was Lamu, northern Kenya, 1986, of course one can never go back to a dream place!
Zanzibar is off my list as it is over touristy
Babati in northern Tanzania is my new home, it isnstunningly beautiful and laid back. I run a small charity there building schools and teaching teachers, farming etc, it is a great break and a great place. (www.livingstonetanzaniatrust.com)

Having lived and travelled around the world, I now live in London and commute to Brighton two days a week for work at responsibletravel.com. Travel for me, is about people. Meeting local people and sharing tips with other travellers helps you really understand a place.
