Hi There, I Live in Iran and I have many interests including traveling, which I am afraid I do not get to do much these days. FYI I would like to go back to US and Spain for another visit, as well as perhaps South East Asia, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada. Please note that if you are a European (with the exception of UK) or for example from Australia, NZ or China you will qualify for Iran 2-week airport visa issued on the spot for 50 euros. Many Iranian travel agencies however charge a fee of 30 euros -- IN ADDITION TO to the normal embassy visa fee of as much as $100 for many nationalities -- to get you a 30-day regular tourist visa if you are from countries like UK, Canada, US or some others. It is worth it only if you are planning a trip longer than 2 weeks. So airport visa is by far the best option out there if you country is on the Iran FM 'approved list'. If I could be of more or have other travel-related questions, let me know. would be glad to help. Good luck.Amir |

I am a grandmother of four and have travelled independently to many countries since retiring but for the past 4 years I have been returning to Uganda I have helped a small community in the south west Uganda to open a Guest House that is suitable for volunteers to stay awhile - and then help in the local schools, our own nursery school and with womens groups in the area. I am now actively looking for volunteers to go out there - and be sure that any money they spend - either at the Lodge (£50 per week for full board & accommodation) will stay within and ultimately help that community See www.ugandalodge.com |

I moved to Grenada in 2000 to start a small sustainable resort. I have been going places during my former executive life; this is the nicest spot I could find. People are very nice, there is no racial issue at all, nature is beautiful and varied and violent crime is very low. It's not overrun by tourists. Hikers will love this paradise. |

I'm a Canadian prairie girl living on the British seaside, where I study television for fun, profit, and eventually the glory inherent in getting a(nother) piece of paper with a fancy seal. |

I enjoy traveling in any shape or form. Equally comfortable in a 5-star hotel, or in a hostel dorm. I love to learn as much as i can about the local culture and costumes of the countries i am visiting, rather than focus only on the tourist attractions. My motto is: "When in Rome, Do As the Romans Do" |

Very much happy to meet new faces, to converse cultural topics, always willing to help our local community and always optimistic. |

Liz and I love to travel independently over a longish period of time so as to savour the culture of the locality. Both now living in the Mercantour in France, doing our own thing - best move we ever made. Favourite destination - India. Anywhere on the sub continent, there's always stuff going on, a total bombardment of the senses. Never been to South America, and still a must. South Patagonia or Chile |

So, my husband and I are attempting to plan a HUGE trip. We are hoping to go from SA to Thailand and do Indo- China. Then to Malaysia, especially Borneo. We are keen to go to Nepal and do the trek to Base camp, Bhutan and then to India and Sri Lanka. If anyone has any tips for these areas I'm all ears!! We are not opposed to group tours, but are keen to do the easier things on our own- camping if possible. |
