Group
I am the project coordinator for Maasai Emayian Women Group in Kenya in Ngong division which is currently ngong district,

Maasai Emayian Women Group is a non-profit community based organization that employs up to 300 women to make beaded products. The organization management team provides beads to unemployed women at their homes in the greater keekonyokie south location, Oloyiankalani, Kipeto and Ilmasin
Employment to empower women
The organization is aimed at creating employment to empower women. It is fundamentally based on the principle of sharing skills and knowledge of beadwork.
The women make dog colors, angel figurines, animals, frames and almost anything their creative mind can conceive. They are encouraged to explore their creativity to producing specific goods for corporate clients like Safaricom.
"I have noticed that craft shops are not selling authentic wares. There were no goods that had integrity. My mother taught me how to bead when I was young girl, when I grew up, I noticed that the authentic peoples culture of great importance to the history of the people. I started this group to make sure women earn from what they know and what they have.
Penetrate foreign markets
The women are paid anything from ksh 5000 to ksh 3500 for their products. I use my contacts overseas to penetrate foreign markets.
Financing
Our entrepreneurial venture has been met with one difficulty, financing. "At the initial stages we struggled to get funding. Many in the corporate world didn’t share our vision. We were very passionate about our art and Maasai culture and just moved forward despite the inability to convince anyone to support us. Lots of money came from our own pockets.

Travelers Philanthropy
We have purposely joined this network to tap the travelers’ eyes and interest to share with them our interests, culture and business.
