I'm a writer. Love living in edinburgh after 30 odd years on the west coast of scotland. don't like the tourist trail. most of our holidays are sailing off the west coast of scotland on a 71 ft schooner my husband built. But we did go on a great holiday to morocco two years ago - the high spot was staying in 'la roserie' (unbelievable ornate old style moroccan buildings, but with very modern facilities, bathrooms, linen etc.. )in the Atlas mountains deep in the Ouigane valley. You must stay at least one night at the Roserie in order to be able to go horsetrecking on their beautiful arab stallion horses, staying in berber villages. Most trecking in morocco is for a minimum period; with La roserie you can do it for just a few days. It's not expensive, we went with two guides who were delighful company. Staying in the mountains was an incredible experience. Fab. |
