I am a freelance theatre director with a permanent job in a theatre in Norwich, England. Being a freelance I am indulging my obsession with travel. Most recently in the Maldives, Eygypt, Morrocco and next stop Paris. In April 2010 I am off to Transyvania. I love visiting European capitals and seeing plays I know performed in foreign languages. Nothing wacky about me!!! |

Am a huge fan of Alistair Sawday. I Like planning own trips - small hotels, family run B&B's rather than package trips. I've got a lot of time for Europe - can speak French & Spanish so like to explore the lesser known parts as weel as Italy, Germany, Greece - the history & architecture. Food & wine are also a passion. A keen cook & have studied wine so the food & wine of Europe as well as Thailand, India, Morocco are high on my list. Favourite place has to be Marrakech - loved the people, atmosphere, food, wine & the orange juice ...... every street corner! I have a lot of short breaks, city breaks, weekends away, so my dream trip would be a long trip to the Far East ... Thailand, China and most of all would love to see the Rose City of Petra |

Born in York and left, 10 days later as my Father was a Cavalryman and the Regiment was posted to Aldershot, then Tidworth and then, in 1932 Egypt wher we spent the next two years in Cairo, Main Barrack, Abassia, then, in 1934 we moved to India arriving in Karachi (Then in India) and went up to the Punjab and the North West Frontier serving in Rawalpindi and Peshawar, on the edge of the Khyber Pass/ We families were sent up into the Hill Stations and for the next 12 years, India was our home, we moved about a lot and I went to Military Boarding Schools. On returning to England during the 2nd /World War, I joined the Army as a boy solier and spent the next few years travelling, finishing up in Singapore in 1950 due to go to Korea. I have been travelling since and would like to tell you all about it. |
