I have been independently travelling in Africa for 20 years and have recently set up my own travel company called From Here 2 Timbuktu. I specialise in taking people across the Sahara and on small group tours in West Africa, principally Mali, Cameroon and Senegal. I do a 6 month journey from the UK and you may join me for 2 weeks or more of Faraway Festivals, tribal trips, river cruises and gorilla trekking. All of my trips take people to some of the remote communities that I have befriended on my travels, to far and distant places as my company name suggests.
I have long felt that tourism in Africa tends to concentrate on the wild life and the landscape whilst the most exciting, vibrant and inspiring side of Africa - its diverse people and their extraordinary cultures - passes by the window of the 4x4.

The aim is to give people that independent travel experience without the hassle, to get you right out there into the back and beyond and to put something back into some comunitiies which are very dear to my heart.

I live in Tucson and in the Languedoc (France) about half time in each place. Travel is my passion. I am lucky to have been able to indulge it for most of my life. I dream about South Georgia's albatross colonies. I would love to trek in the Kamchatka Peninsula.

Travelled independently for years pre-kids, and we've now dragged them along with us ever since... easy places like South Africa and Mexico from 4 months old, to Sabah, Ecuador and the Galapagos and Tanzania in the last few years. They're never too young to get on the road. Dream places - Madagascar, Ethiopia, Gabon and Sierra Leone.

I am a paediatric endocrinologist, semi-retired. I travel extensively, writing articles for up-market glossies. Member of ITWPA and American Travel Writers' Bureau. Love life, love most people, and am especially susceptible, as one would expect, to the plight of children in third world countries.
I would love to hear from people who feel similarly. Thanks
I love travelling to South Africa, can never tire of the space, the vividness of the colours, the contrasts... I love the Caribbean, equally for the colour and contrast of life on the islands. I love train journies, and hope to take an inaugural trip on a new train in India during this September.

Adventure travel to the most out of the way and unexplored areas of the world is my passion. I've been to the Sahara, the Congo River basin, the Andes, and the Amazon. Swum with pink dolphins and whales, hunted with Pygmies, watched a silverback gorilla chastise his rebellious son, and drunk millet beer with a village chief. I now run DreamWeaver Travel Company and we specialize in offering others these kinds of experiences and in making our travel a positive thing for the communities we visit and the world at large.
