Love city breaks - been lots of European cities Barcelona and Milan while on F1 trips, also Prague, Krakow, Dublin ....and a few more. Have won holidays I would probably not ever have been able to afford, South Africa, Tobago and the Italian Lakes. Love to experience new places and cultures. |

1 retired last August from the Civil Service, ( spent the last 20 years in the Housing dept). I do enjoy travelling either with groups / or independently. I travelled to Peru by myself in March of this year, as some one else said in the past, the place is "awesome". Visited Cusco /MP etc. Am looking to travel by train from St. Petersburg- Beijing in 2010 |

As the traveler who has once been from home is wiser than he who has never left his own doorstep, so a knowledge of one other culture should sharpen our ability to scrutinize more steadily, to appreciate more lovingly our own. Traveling is not Just seeing the new; It is also about leaving behind. Not Just Opening Doors; also closing them behind you, Never to return. But the place you have left forever is always there for you to see whenever you shut your eyes. We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world, and the best we can find in our travels is an honest friend |

I think my love for travel comes from a passion for social politics and an experience of difference, and a woefully short attention span that renders me constantly (if not physically!) nomadic! As such, my appreciation for travel satisfies an opportunity to learn something new, whether that's simply a new perspective, or a completely different way of life. Since coming to work for responsibletravel.com I've been able to turn my vicarious nomadism to a whole new range of prospective destinations! Having confined my travels to predominantly Euro-American cultures so far, I'd like to get out of my comfort zone and try something more challenging in the near future. Any suggestions? Answers on an e-card... |

My feet are always itchy...I am addicted to travel, I love meeting new people from different countries and am genuinely fascinated with the differences and similarities between us all. This fits in quite nicely with my other passion-photography. Working for responsibletravel.com and being the main customer contact here means I am constantly browsing the site and helping people to choose a holiday from all the magical and exciting holidays we offer. |

I'm a travel journalist turned travel agent, running my own web-based agency Wren Elite Travel which focuses on adventure, activity, luxury holidays, tours, safaris and specialist travel. I love all kinds of travel, but have spent a lot of time reviewing luxury hotels in the course of my work so am partial to comfort! I do also love adventure and activity as well, and am prepared to 'rough it' (just a little bit) for the sake of getting to see and experience exciting parts of the world and local communities. A highlight of one trip was having a silver service luncheon with the British Ambassador and his wife in his home in La Paz, Bolivia, and then I adored the opportunity to get up close and personal with a Tasmanian Devil in Australia's island state earlier this year! I haven't been yet to Alaska or Antarctica - and these are both my dream destinations and on my list. |

I am a grandmother of four and have travelled independently to many countries since retiring but for the past 4 years I have been returning to Uganda I have helped a small community in the south west Uganda to open a Guest House that is suitable for volunteers to stay awhile - and then help in the local schools, our own nursery school and with womens groups in the area. I am now actively looking for volunteers to go out there - and be sure that any money they spend - either at the Lodge (£50 per week for full board & accommodation) will stay within and ultimately help that community See www.ugandalodge.com |

I love to travel and now I am (early) retired can do more of it. Mostly "do my own thing" rather than going with a group. For years I have always taken a Travel Log to write a daily dairy to accompany my many photographs and to jog my memory. Most interesting place to date - Penang, Malaysia where I was lucky enough to meet an English man who had lived there for many years and spoke the language - he became my unofficial guide introducing me to the night food markets in Georgetown and The English Club for ex-pats. My last trip was to Cuba in 15 November with The Adventure Company. Keen to get there before Castro moved on and so pleased I visited this country. Have posted a couple of Tips on currency and Sanitation on this site and will add more thoughts on the place itself shortly. I want to go to Castries, St Lucia to research some family history and not for a Sandals holiday and, for the same reason, St John's New Brunswick. Any news from independant travellers to these areas, particulary to Castries, would be very welcome. |

I really enjoy my trekking and any active holiday - I've a boredom threshold of about 2 hours so beach holidays are definatly out! Favorite country I've visited is Nepal by a mile, the people are the friendlest I've come across and the mountains are awesome, can't wait to head back there! |
