I am a grandmother of four and have travelled independently to many countries since retiring but for the past 4 years I have been returning to Uganda I have helped a small community in the south west Uganda to open a Guest House that is suitable for volunteers to stay awhile - and then help in the local schools, our own nursery school and with womens groups in the area. I am now actively looking for volunteers to go out there - and be sure that any money they spend - either at the Lodge (£50 per week for full board & accommodation) will stay within and ultimately help that community See www.ugandalodge.com |

2004-2005 was a great period for us: 15 monts travelling around the world, from Mexico to Panama via central america, Equador to Chile, New Zealand and Australia (where we had studied and lived for a year previsouly) to finish the trip via Viet Nam, Laos, Thailand, Nepal and India...We have settled down now in St Jeannet, the home village of Benoit, certainly one of the most beautifull place in the world..."after Reunion Island !!! " adds Corinne :) (where she grew up and spent most her life). Now we are still looking for beautifull places to go, more special people to meet, and stay young forever :) |

I love travelling around the world and learning about new cultures. My dream was to visit Southeast Asia and after postponing that trip twice I managed to do it during 2008, a 3-months trip that I loved. While I was travelling around Laos I did some responsible tours and realised I have always been a responsible traveller without knowing it! I have always enjoyed visiting social programmes, charities, and environmental projects during my trips, trying to get to the authentic locals and avoiding the most touristic places. When I returned to Argentina, I decided to start organising responsible travel experiences in Buenos Aires for those who enjoy getting involved with the locals as I do when I travel. |

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.... Mark Twain |

After being told by several people that we would NOT be able to travel after we have kids, I was determined to prove them wrong! Travel has always been a passion for me and though we are not independently wealthy, nor have unlimited time to explore new places we have made a promise to ourselves and children to expose them to different cultures, countries and customs as often as our budget allows. Living in New York also lends us unique opportunity to visit museums, theater and a variety of ethnic neighborhoods where we can experience traditional food from around the world. Taking advantage of this diverse city and being able to leave the country once in awhile is having the best of both worlds. |

I'm lucky enough to live and breathe travel working for responsibletravel.com, which also means i have a new dream holiday every day - at the moment its an African horse safari - but I'd still be very happy hanging out by the seaside in a proper English pub with a Sunday Roast and a beer. The best thing about travel for me is really getting to know the locals and their culture, finding the hidden corners and getting off the beaten track. I'm hoping to find out about a lot more great places by being part of this. |
