I have written three books on India - India: The Peacock's Call, India: The Tiger's Roar and India: The Elephant's Blessing which have all been published within the last six years. The Peacock's Call has just been republished with an additional Part II. My non commercial website promoting India is www.thepeacockscall.co.uk and my photo galleries on India, Scotland and South Africa are on [web link] India is the Land of my birth and I go back annually for a month to enjoy and experience this wonderful land with all her beauty and her challenges. Graham my husband and I travel independently and because I speak Hindi (from my childhood years) we are lucky enough to have some rather special experiences. I have tried to promote the whole of India but I was awed by Hampi in Karnataka and feel too few people know about it, and I love being in out of the way places in Rajasthan. My favourite Indian city is Delhi but followed by Hyderabad. I made a pilgrimage to The Ganga earlier this year and visited homes and places I had not seen for exactly 50 years! It was a happy fulfilling experience. I plan to return to India in January and think Indians need our support at a very challenging time. I am committed to try to help save the tiger which I consider the most magnificent of animals and I have been fortunate enough to see quite a few. |

I have 2 very complementary addictions: travel and photography, that's why this website of all the ones I visited seems to me the most appropriate. I hope through it to exchange tips and secrets about travel and photography. I like travel in all shapes and fashion- except maybe package tours on the Costa Brava!- My favourite trip of all times was when years ago, my husband and I drove a land-Rover all the way from UK to Delhi and back. Pity that in those days I was not taking pictures and I did not write a diary. Memories fade! what I find most gratifying now are travels for a cause like trekking in the Moroccan Sahara for Médecins du Monde, running in Senegal for La Sénégazelle, or doing some 'community challenge' in Namibia (that's my next 'responsible' trip) for a charity. Africa is an alltime magnet and I always have an African trip planned on the horizon as soon as I come back from one! Africa and deserts are the ultimate spriritual experience for me. The feeling of being as small as one of these grains of sand in the immensity of the landscape is awesome! I love Europe as well, and have so much to discover still of my 'old' continent. I loved walking a week of the GR20 in Corsica in June this year and I loved lazying in an ' Agritourismo' near Verona and going to hear Carmen in the Roman Arena. I love living in Manchester; it's its imperfections that make it so endearing, I think. France is my country of origin and each time I go there I am discovering something new; it is so varied and beautiful! Further afield I would like to visit Mongolia (The Gobi Desert)and go back to Laos and Vietnam where I lived for a while when I was a child. |

Swiss married to a Scotsman, speaks 6 languages and with my husband incorporated one year ago AUGUSTA Company. Seen 56 countries and worked in 12. The best countries for me, as of today are: USA for the diversity, Italy for the museums and old cities and their knowledge of art, The Netherlands for their open-minded, Scotland where I live now for the history and the character of the population. |

My husband and I enjoyed traveling independent to most countries while we were ex-pats in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. We traveled from Bangkok to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam on our own, traveling mostly by bus and walking a lot in the cities. One of our greatest adventures, however, was traveling with our son and a group on the train from Beijing to Mongolia and Moscow, then onto St. Petersburg by ourselves. We had traveled by bus tour from Helsinki to St. Petersburg and Moscow the year before. |

I am a typical globetrotter and have spent several long periods of my life abroad. I have been to more than 50 different countries, and I made my first visit to Brazil over 30 years ago. I have returned many times, and I now have a permanent residence permit and live in João Pessoa (between Recife and Natal). I work as a professional travel companion. |
