Ambleside bed and breakfast in the Lake District
We had a great walk, right from the door of the B+B, to the pretty village of Troutbeck, then up (and up some more) over Wansfell with fantastic views in all directions. Friendly owners, excellent breakfast with lovely homemade jam.

Lake District family activity holiday
Most enjoyable was the opportunity to try new things with the children - the leap off a rock into a small pool during the ghyll scrambling was fabulous, and scary.

Most memorable was going sailing - for the first time in my life - round Derwentwater on a perfect summer day. (Though I did so many new things on the holiday that there are lots of memorable experiences.)

Great hotel, is lovely, very friendly/ lovely foods and nice touches such as a lovely complimentary pot of tea or coffee in the lounge when you come in.
