| First real city I found in Central America Posted 02 May 2009 by Pedro Things to do & see: Panama City is one of these places you can do in 1 day if you are in a hurry or you can do it in 5 days (especially when you stay there over the weekend and can enjoy 24 hours nightlife). | The Panama Canal - Gatun Locks Posted 17 Mar 2009 by Holly and Nick Instead of the standard trip to the Miraflores locks on the Panama Canal, you can do a round trip to Gatun locks (the biggest on the canal) and come back on the scenic train at dusk. Get a bus from the Albrook bus terminal to Colon around lunchtime ($2.50p/p and 2 hours, we even got a nice air conditioned bus with a kung-fu movie). | Where to stay in Panama City? Posted 17 Mar 2009 by Holly and Nick The old city, Casco Viejo, is definitely worth a day or two to wander the streets, see the museums and architectural redevelopment it is undergoing, but in the evening there is a lack of restaurants and attractions and it also feels a bit dangerous.
