Relaxing after an invigorating afternoon in the south being buffeted and whooshed along by Margaret River surfing waves which even make body surfing exhilarating; picnicking in native forest in Perth’s Adelaide Hills; or in the north enjoying playtime in the tranquil waters of the Ningaloo reef l...more...

Done biking for the dayA week of staying in various Agriturismo's (working farms offering accommodation) in the South Western corner of Sardinia revealed that whilst food was always fantastic and hospitality welcoming lodgings themselves were sometimes a little basic. There are of course exceptions and one of those is the Agriturismo Biologico Fighezia tucked up in the hills in the province of Fluminimaggiore. We were w...more...

Cycling on Devon's Granite Way, North DartmoorHere's an inspiring off-road cycle suitable for everyone - and you don't even need your own bike. The Granite way, running from Okehampton on the northern fringe of Dartmoor to Lydford, mostly follows an old railway track along the edge of Dartmoor's granite massif.

We went from Okehampton, crossing the spectacular metal work of the 19th century Meldon Viaduct, and ending at the massive stonew...more...

If you're going to Pisa a cheap and fun thing to do is to take a quadricycle out. Right next to where the main attractions (the leaning tower etc) are you can hire a bike (which can fit up to six people) which costs 5 Euros for forty minutes! It's great fun and gives you the chance to whizz around the sights from a fresh angle.more...

The mountains reaches up to 4000 ft, and offers plenty of great hikes, among these a beautiful - and quite tough - hike to the highest summit of Slide Mountain. Another great s...more...

Posted 17 Jul 2009 by clare fisher
I recently went to Centre Parcs for a Hen do and although I actually had no idea what I was going to be doing there I have to say it was actually a lovely secluded getaway.

It took two hours to drive from Oxford to Longleat Centre Parcs and a pretty drive past Stonehenge, if you take the country roads. It was very simple to find, and before I knew it I was driving past the Centre Parcs welcome...more...

I had always had holidays in Germany and Austria with my children - the first time my son came here he said: 'This is like all the places we ever went on holiday rolled in...more...
