My top tips - local ideas, insider tips, special things to see and do

See the flaming tar barrels carried through the streets.Make sure you are in the town early enough and don't stand in doorways.

What is it about this place that makes it special

The sight of the barrels being run through the dark streets is very dramatic, a sight worth seeing and one which will always stay with you.Try and stay until the very large barrel in the square at the end about midnight.

Sounds interesting. What's a flaming barrel? and why are they being carried through the streets? Does the evening end with an amazing firework display?

I'm not sure as to the why, but there are quite a few sites on this including pictures.Just go into "tar barrels" and I'm sure you'll find lots of information. There didn't used to be fireworks ,but there was an enormous bonfire.
