My top tips - local ideas, insider tips, special things to see and do
You may travel far and wide, visit Temples, walk streets alongside bright orange tailored Monks, eat strange delights such as grilled spiders, but nothing can tempt you away from the luxury of relaxing in your own private lounge once a night approaches in Luang Purbang.
So watching a DVD wasn't on your list of things to do whilst in Luang Purbang, but who's going to stop you. After travelling for weeks or even months sometimes a little sitting back and recreating a home comfort can do you the world of good. When the cafes and restaurants begin to shut up for the night and switch off that all important film you were half way through watching, take yourself off to 'Le Cinema'.
Just a tiny turning off of the main road into the main night market and then a few steps down a short ramp you will open up a wooden door to find what looks like a family home. Once inside your eyes divert to each of the four walls tastefully displaying DVDs ranging from timeless classics like Jaws to Walk The Line.
Once you have decided upon your DVD of choice with your new fellow traveller friends one of the friendly family owners will escort you to your very own room equipped with wide screen TV and neatly decorated plump cushions and covers to snuggle up in.
There are about four rooms, if I can remember correctly and each can fit about 8 people in. Go on, find some friends and visit Le Cinema for a welcoming respite from your exhausting travels.....

What is it about this place that makes it special
Your money goes straight into the pockets of the local family who came up with one brilliant, tourist-magnet idea.
