As well as conducting our own campaigns to improve the tourism industry, we also support and partner with the following campaigns:
The Born Free Foundation zoo check
For many years now we have been working closely with Born Free and supporting their travellers alert and zoo check programme. This campaign involves a variety of animal welfare issues in tourism see our page on
Born Free’s campaign here.
One aspect of the zoo check campaign calls on tourists to report and boycott sites and attractions where animals are used as photographic props. For more information see our
article on photo opportunities with captive wild animals. We also have information for travellers on
risks in animal interactions.
International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) Think twice Many of British tourists come back from holiday with illegal souvenirs made from animals. IFAW are calling on travellers to pledge not to buy products from endangered species. Find out more about
the Think Twice campaign here.

Minority Rights Group (MRG) Trouble in Paradise campaign We supported a campaign by Minority Rights Group called Trouble in Paradise which aims to help an indigenous community in Kenya's Rift Valley - the Endorois - gain back their ancestral land rights to a game reserve. The Endorois, who were evicted from their homelands in the 1970s to make way for the reserve, hope to have a greater say in decisions around tourism in the area, and to benefit economically from visitors too. Find out more about
the Endorois campaign here.
