We only promote holidays that have been carefully pre-screened by us to ensure they meet our criteria for responsible tourism. We represent over 270 specialist operators and 100s of accommodations worldwide.

NEW responsibletravel.com - Product Manager

Responsibletravel.com, the world's leading website for responsible holidays, has recently launched a travel agency arm, selling specialist 'responsible' hotels, and flights, direct to customers for the first time.

We are looking for a Product Manager to help us to build and manage a unique product portfolio of responsible hotels around the world, which we market through our world leading website.

This person will have experience in negotiating with hotels; managing the on-going relationships with them; pricing; getting and maintaining accurate information about the product on internal systems and on the website; ensuring the product is attractively promoted on the website; and collating and promoting offers on an on-going basis. This person will also have the responsibility for contributing to developing the product strategy, and for identifying and converting additions to the product portfolio.

This person will be very commercially aware, numerate, good at working with systems and skilled at relationship building and maintenance and strong on administration. Relevant product management experience is vital.

An ethical outlook on life and a passion for travelling are preferable.

You will become an important part of a currently small team who are launching a very exciting product into the market, which will allow you grow with the division as it grows over the coming years.

Salary £22-24k depending on experience – Based in Brighton UK.

We currently have 3 internships available, for people able to work at least 2 days a week for a minimum of 6 months. Please note that these are unpaid positions.

1. Responsible travel news researcher
We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for an intern to work on our business to business news website responsibletravelnews.com. The site has been created as a place where all of us involved in tourism, whether industry, media or education, who care passionately about travel, conservation and sustainable development can come together to ask questions and get answers, have a rant or rave, and make contact with others in the industry who may have valuable experiences to share.

The role involves research, writing, editing and database development. Ideally we are looking for someone with experience of HTML / Dreamweaver as this is our main tool for updating the site. An interest in responsible tourism and ethical business is very important. The right person would preferably be based in or around Brighton and available to work at the office, as well as from home. 2. Responsible travel news blogger
We require an intern to help develop discussion and awareness of responsibletravelnews.com on blogs and forums in order to drive traffic to the site. 3. Responsible travel community intern
We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for an intern to work on IKnowAGreatPlace.com, our new community site which is fully integrated into responsibletravel.com. The site offers unique local travel advice on great places from the real experts: the locals that live there or travellers who have been there before.

The role involves research, writing, editing, admin, forum moderation and e-marketing, and an interest in responsible tourism is important. The right person would preferably be based in or around Brighton and available to work at the office, as well as from home. Aqua-Firma - Wilderness and Wildlife Travel Consultant (full-time)

Aqua-Firma is looking for a Wilderness and Wildlife Travel Consultant to join us in our offices in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Charlestown in Cornwall. Previous travel experience in relevant countries is important, notably within Central and South America. You will also need to have a keen interest in responsible travel, wilderness and natural history. Experience in activities which include diving, sailing, canoeing and conservation will be of great advantage.

The personal qualities we need are enthusiasm, excellent written and organisational skills and an eye for detail. Experience with Word and email management is important, as is good telephone, written and face to face communication skills. Prior knowledge of the travel industry is not essential.

Our offices overlook one of the most inspirational maritime sites in Britain. Charlestown harbour is a World Heritage Site kept in near impeccable Cornish style with stunning beaches either side of the harbour and dramatic cliff coastlines in the direction of Mevagissey and Fowey in view across St Austell Bay. The amenities of St Austell are nearby, Truro and Newquay are around half an hour away, and Plymouth is about an hour away.
