MEDIA RELEASE: 21 April 2010

responsibletravel.com’s community www.IKnowAGreatPlace.com launches brand new travellers Question and Answer facility

Stuck between a Thorn Tree and a Facebook of friends when it comes to getting answers to your travel questions? Fed up of sifting through guidebooks and websites on your chosen destination when all you want to do is to be able to ask someone who has been there or who actually lives there? Then the new Q & A from www.iknowagreatplace.com is just the ticket!

Social media was made for trading answers and insider knowledge in travel but until now there hasn’t been a place to tap into people who live in the places you want to know about AND get speedy answers. www.iknowagreatplace.com connects members with a worldwide community of travellers who love to share their knowledge on local secrets and local experiences. Questions are directed to over 5000 travellers and travel professionals from over 1000 tourism businesses around the world, meaning members get answers from the real experts. This brand-new offering of well –informed and free answers to any travel question looks set to become one of the web’s most popular travel sites and put an end to those days of shouting into the void!

Since launching in 2008, www.iknowagreatplace.com has built up a varied membership of travellers sharing their tips, photos and blog posts; creating the perfect pool of insider advice and travel aficionados poised to answer any question. Combine this with some high-tech geekery, and the Q & A cleverly seeks out the best person to answer your question, leaving you to ponder no longer. All this means that in just three weeks since the launch the buzz has been non-stop with over 200 questions asked and all but 2 getting an average of 4 answers from people who live in or have been to the destination!

In the past week there has been a noticeable jump in UK-based questions as people consider holidaying options closer to home. Here are just some of the many questions that the members have answered so far:

1) We are cycling the coast from Newhaven to Edinburgh - + our dog! Any tips on good, cheap campsites, places to visit, pubs with good ale?
