Independent travel in Australia

Australia is the independent traveller’s playground, and to highlight our new independent travel section on responsibletravel.com, we have put together a Queensland itinerary as an example of the sort of thing you can do when travelling independently in Australia...

Independent Traveller Queensland is home to over 1000km of stunning coastline including the Great Barrier Reef and countless national parks ready to be explored.

Here at responsibletravel.com we have the perfect mix of day tours and accommodations to take the intrepid traveller off the beaten track whilst ensuring you can still enjoy some of Australia’s most iconic sites.

You can be sure that what we offer will not only delight and excite but that it's also responsibly run. With peace of mind that you are minimising your footprint whilst giving something back by making a difference, adding our tours and accommodations into your Oz itinerary is a must!

Independent travel within Australia is easy!

Our suggested itinerary takes you up the east coast of Australia. Travelling up from Sydney’s Gold Coast couldn’t be easier. Bus, train and car travel offer scenic and greener alternatives than flying and are definitely the best option if time is not too much of an issue. The national long-distance bus company Greyhound Australia offers a comfortable and economical way to travel.

The East coast has a fantastic train line running almost its entire length-it's a popular option for overnight travel. Car hire or purchase with a group of other independent travellers is an economical, reliable and completely independent way to travel up Australia’s amazing coastline offering a viable alternative to bus and rail.
