How do we work?
From your holiday pages on our website travellers make email enquiries which are passed directly to you. You'll have access to our extranet system (your own log in name & password) where you review enquiries & declare your bookings to us.
Who do we promote?
We promote tour operators that meet our requirements for Responsible Tourism. Please see our
responsible travel criteria guidelines.
How much does it cost?
Tour operators pay an annual fee based on company turnover (starting at $300 per year) + commission per confirmed booking. Please note we do not offer a discount on the membership fee under any circumstances.
What next? The steps to membership
1) Please contact
ellie@responsibletravel.com who will send you further details including an application form. Please include a few lines about why you feel you'll meet our responsible travel criteria. Please note due the number of operators in the following areas we are not taking applications for membership from local tour operators operating in the following areas: Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, Kenya, Ethiopia, Bhutan, Egypt, Kayaking in Croatia, and Kerala in India.
2) Return your completed application form, including your Responsible Travel policy which will need approval.
3) We then work with you to decide which of your tours/accommodation to promote on responsibletravel.com. You'll then be able to build your own pages where you'll need to write a trip specific 'making a difference' paragraph for every page, which details how the holiday/accommodation minimises the negative impacts & maximises the benefits on the local community & environment.
4) Your pages go live, you are allocated an Account Manager, and start to receive enquiries - Welcome to responsiblevacation.com!
Unfortunately due to the large number of e-mails from non responsible tour operators and accommodations we can no longer guarantee a response for those who do not qualify. Please note that we only promote bona fide businesses and are unlikely to consider companies with Google ads on their website.
All membership fees and commissions are subject to VAT where applicable.
