responsibletravel.com has added 78 inspiring new holidays and two places to stay to its collection in February, as the growing movement in responsible tourism continues, taking the site's total holiday and accommodation count to 3,929.

From a serene painting holiday in Catalonia and a relaxing hatha yoga retreat in Greece, to a turtle conservation project in Malaysia, an action-packed Maasai warrior training course in Kenya or an American adventure taking in the eclipse, there are holidays - all with local flavour - to suit all tastes and budgets.

Eclipse and National Parks holiday in America - from £1599 (7 days)
Zion and Bryce National Parks are two very different, stunning canyons. At Zion the tall red cliffs tower over the river and at Bryce a system of trails weaves among the sculpted red and orange spires of rock. Turtle conservation in Malaysia - from £450 (2 weeks)
Turtles in this area face extinction. Your volunteering efforts make a real difference. During the first week you'll stay at a resort with its own private beach. At night you will guard the beach, protecting nesting turtles from poachers and ill informed tourists. In the second week you will live in the village, hosting the after-school marine club and a weekend info booth for tourists. In the evenings of the second week you will help guard the most important turtle nesting beach in the islands – Pinang Seribu. In your spare time you can go snorkelling or visit another bay.
