Tourism Western Australia and Responsible Travel Promotion Terms & Conditions

1. There is one 1st prize consisting of a 382mm x 564mm print signed by Andy Rouse (value £70) and one runner up prize of a signed copy of Andy’s book Living Landscapes (value £20).

2. Closing date for competition is midnight on Friday 5th November 2009

3. Entrants for the competition must add their entries on the ‘I know a great place.com’ competition page at www.iknowagreatplace.com. All entries are subject to the iknowagreatplace.com terms and conditions. Entries will be judged by a panel of 3 judges, including one judge who is independent of the Promoter and Responsible Travel. Details of the judges are available on request.

4. For every photo you enter, you must:
  • have a high resolution version (4megapixels or higher)
  • own the copyright

    5. Photos, blog post or tips uploaded to iknowagreatplace.com before the competition start date can to be entered. When entering a photo, tip or blog post, responsibletravel.com will have a non-transferable, non-revocable right to use it to promote iknowagreatplace.com You will still own the copyright, and full credit will be given to you for the entry.

    6. No purchase is necessary in order to win the prize specified in point 1 above.

    7. The winners and runner up will be notified within 28 days of the end of the applicable month by either email or telephone. If the promoter is unable to contact any winner within 30 days or the winner proves to be ineligible, an alternative winner will be chosen. The promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

    8. By entering the promotion you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

    9. Entrants must be aged 18 or over. The competition is open to everyone. The promoter reserves the right to refuse any entry which it considers in its sole discretion to be ineligible in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

    10. There is no cash or other alternative prize available, except in the event that the promoter is unable to provide the prize as described above due to circumstances outside of its control, in which case the promoter reserves the right to substitute any of the prizes for ones of equal or greater value.

    11. The promoter accepts no responsibility for lost, damaged, incomplete or delayed entries. Proof of entry is not proof of receipt.

    12. The prizes will be posted to the winners.

    13. The promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering this competition or accepting any prize. No responsibility is accepted for any occurrences resulting from an entrant’s connection to the internet via the Promoter's website. The promoter does not accept responsibility for any damage (whether material or non-material) caused to participants, to their computer equipment or to data which is stored on them, or to their personal, professional or commercial activities. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit the Promoter's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraud.

    14. You agree that the promoter may feature the name and county of the winner in future promotions and publicity materials.

    15. The promotion is run by Tourism Western Australia 6th Floor, Australia Centre, Strand London, UK WC2B 4LG and Responsible Travel, Pavilion House, 6 Old Stiene, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 1 EJ.

    16. The promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or to modify or cancel the competition without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside its reasonable control.

    17 These Terms and Conditions will be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England unless you as an entrant are a Scottish or Republic of Ireland resident in which case you may choose the law of your residence. You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales again unless you are a Scottish resident or a resident of Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.
