Responsible tourism: Kayaking holiday in Halong Bay, Vietnam
Being a responsible eco tour operator is at the heart of what we are all about. Ongoing economic development, especially tourism, is placing a lot of pressure on the environment of Halong Bay. We believe that developing businesses should be connected with environment protection in creating a sustainable harmony. We commit to try our best to minimize the negative impacts on the bay while giving maximum enjoyment from your traveling experience.
Our main goal is to promote responsible travel and Eco-tourism, help support sustainable development, educate our travelers and help protect the cultures and environments they visit. Joining our tours, tourists actively contribute to the protection of our heritage and have chance to learn more about the fisherman’s lives here. We give advices how to protect the area while kayaking, for example not release rubbish onto the water, or collect floating garbage on the way.
We turn off the engine of the cruise while our travelers are kayaking, swimming or visiting caves to save the energy.
Our vision is not only to create the very real and unique experience for travelers, but also build an intimate community preserve that maintains the balance of nature and community.
We work with local communities, businesses and individuals to develop sustainable tourism opportunities that help local economies while minimizing negative environmental and cultural impacts. We use local guide and suppliers, use fresh food from the local, boats, porters and transportation... to share the economic benefits.
During the tour, we will try to give visitors the chance to live like a local, talk with the fishermen for more understanding about their life, their difficulties. We also contribute to local charities.
On the way to Halong Bay, travelers also have a short break for visit a handicraft center, buy some souvenirs made by local people, most of children here have physical disabilities or from agent orange .
To conclude, our aims where possible are to work with locally owned and managed partner organizations so that economic benefit and skills acquisition are channeled directly into the local community.
