Responsible tourism: Cape to Cape track walking holiday in Western Australia
This eight day walk experience has been designed to showcase the very best the Cape to Cape track and the Margaret River region has to offer - coastal walking, pristine swimming beaches, native wildlife, world-renowned food and wine, and luxurious accommodation set sensitively within the native environment. The track is set within a world biodiversity hotspot which we are passionate about both protecting and showcasing to our guests.
To ensure the track is used in a sustainable fashion, we take several steps including supporting the Friends of the Cape to Cape track group, a local organization dedicated to preserving the Cape to Cape track for future generations. In addition to being members, we also financially support the Friends group through our corporate giving program.
To minimise our impact on the Cape to Cape track, we also take the following steps: 1. We apply (and trains all guests in) the ‘leave no trace’ principles of bush walking 2. We limit guest numbers to ensure we do not overuse the track 3. We source the best available food and beverages for our walks from local producers and suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint (and to showcase the food and wine the Margaret River region is renowned for to our guests!) 4. We provide guests reusable water bladders and reusable containers to minimize the use of plastic by our guests and the likelihood of rubbish being left on the track 5. We do not camp on the track, instead we opt to use existing local accommodation set sensitively within their surrounding natural environment 6. We are an accredited tourism business with sustainability and environmental management policies approved under the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program
We are a 100% local West Australian business that takes pride in supporting the local community we operate in and doing our bit to give back to the community and the region. We support local businesses and producers by showcasing local products on our walks and by using existing local service providers wherever possible. We take the 'local' factor so seriously that we have partnered with the best local wineries and restaurants to design exclusive menus that feature the best locally available produce and wine.
From day one, we have also committed to donating 5% profit from each and every walk sold to local charities including the Friends of the Cape to Cape track. This means that a portion of your travel dollar is being put back into the region you will have come to love by the end of your time with us.
We also support local Camp Quality camps and other organisations by donating outdoor gear.
