Responsible tourism: Colombia adventure holiday, small group
We only work with licensed ground operators who work with local guides, natural reserves and archaeological sites in Colombia. The entrance fees, e.g. to the UNESCO World Heritage site of San Agustín Archaeological Park are paid directly and the money is used to protect the environment and the up-keeping of the park.
As a small tour operator we encourage our customers to follow the guidelines of our travellers’ code of conduct, where we emphasis waste management and local consumption at destination. We aim for the local tour guides to educate their clients to behave environmental sensitive, e.g. when you visit Tayrona National Park, we encourage you not to step on or touch corals.
Although most of our destinations need to be reached by air travel, you can decide to offset your carbon footprints. As we are aware of our environmental responsibility, we aim to utilise fewer printed marketing and communication materials, encouraging customers to order the online version of the catalogue and ensure every experience we offer has enough online information.
We put you directly in touch with smaller, lesser known businesses, attractions and parts of Colombia. For example the small museum at San Augustin Archaeology Park, the rural town of Isaos and the indigenous Guambiano market at Silvia. This connects travellers to Colombian culture in a way which they may not normally be able to experience. At the same time, these establishments and individuals benefit economically from the tourism commerce we provide.
By travelling with us, you will be contributing to the local communities directly. Our community based experiences directly benefit the communities and are generally run by the people from the area themselves who work in partnership with local operators. Our activity-based experiences, fitness and wellness vacations have a tailor made approach where we suggest and offer activities that will enable our customers to travel to communities and rural areas where there will be more opportunities to learn about its needs and visit with local people.
We aim to organise responsible tourism experiences in Colombia using our extensive local contacts and knowledge. We work directly with local operators, supporting the local economy. Furthermore we put an emphasis of using of locally produced ingredients in cooking meals.
