Small group adventure holiday
Typically you will be sharing your experiences with between 4-20 like minded travellers (depending on the trip, operator and how many others are booked on the trip) and you'll have a group leader with you. Whether you are travelling alone or with friends its good value, and a great way to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of privacy. This trip will appeal to travellers of all ages who enjoy meeting new people as well as seeing new places.

How this holiday makes a difference

Community
As a part of our continued commitment to responsible tourism, we work closely with our local operator to run this trip in a way that aims to reduce impacts and to give as much back as possible to the local communities. As with the rest of our trips the basics to such a policy is to run trips which involve small groups, never to exceed 14 people.

One of the highlights of this trip is the amount of time available for you to interact with the local populations you will meet along the way. You will have the chance to stop in many local food markets and stalls, giving you time to get a taste for the local culinary delights whilst indulging in some cross cultural communication. As this is a cycle trip the pace will give you a chance to really get to know the areas you are to visit.

Whilst on this trip you will also get to visit an orphanage that we support. This time can be spent interacting with the children or getting to know those adults who have dedicated their lives to the Orphanage. We are in constant contact with are operator and get updates on what is needed at the orphanage, should you want to take anything out. Our local operator is dedicated to making sure this trip maximises it’s positive benefits and works to make you feel that you have really immersed yourself into the local culture. Accommodation is a constant issue in India, however where possible we make sure you stay in small locally owned hotels, increasing your benefit to the local economy.

Environment
Whilst on this trip you will visit both Bandipur and Mudumalai National parks. Your entrance fees, which are included in the trip price, will go towards the conservation efforts in each of the designated areas. We have at our offices worked to reduce our carbon footprint through a reduction of energy use and energy conservation measures. We also actively reduce the waste produced by having active reduction and recycling policies in place. We run regular staff workshops on Responsible Tourism.

Global warming is a reality and to help you make a difference by reducing the carbon dioxide that is produced when you travel we offer a chance to carbon balance your flights. We encourage all our clients to do this and do so for all our staff travel. Go on do your bit!

Story of the holiday provider

The product manager who put together the cycling holidays for this company was a true pioneer - he cycled all 7 continents, including virtually all of Australia, and obtained special permission to traverse the Antarctica. His enthusiasm was infectious; there are now more cycling racks at this company’s office than car parking spaces. Your guides won’t follow stringent itineraries thus offering you greater flexibility. If you’re on a bicycle you can escape the crowds, access remote areas, and get closer to the country you’re in as opposed to seeing it from behind the windows of a sealed coach.
