Responsible tourism: Istanbul to Athens, 12 day itinerary
This short adventure tour through Turkey and Greece takes passengers to a number of UNESCO heritage sites on this 12 day tour. Visiting important archaeological sites like Olympia and Delphi in Greece puts money back into the country and our entry fees keeps the maintenance, restoration and upkeep of these important ruins. We also do not endorse passengers taking any rocks or stones that are affiliated with these sites and will be reiterated by our tour leaders during the tour. Working in partnership with international conservation charity World Land Trust in our continuing quest to establish and maintain our position as a leader in responsible travel, we are offering a new way for our travellers to make a real contribution to the health of the planet - the Carbon Offset Scheme. When you book your tour with us you will be able to offset a portion of your share of the carbon emissions created while you are on your tour. We will calculate what clients have donated, and donate an additional 10% of the total to World Land Trust. Your contributions will be made directly to World Land Trust and we will not receive any direct financial benefit or commission from these donations.
By travelling on some public transport, our passengers can experience local Turkish and Greek life, and are encouraged by our experienced tour leaders to try local cuisine and practice the language. We visit local businesses and restaurants giving back directly to economy which is aiming to help the current financial situation. From even before travel we highlight on our website that passengers should sample the local restaurants and activities. Education- We visit many important attractions in Turkey and Greece that are steeped in history. From Çanakkale for example, we pay our respects at the ANZAC memorial and visit the site of Troy. In Greece we visit several archaeological ruins and UNESCO sites that offer an insight into the ancient world.
