Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1Arrival: We can greet our guests from either, Heraklion or Chania airports. Welcomed by our driver at the airport, we deliver you smoothly to your hotel. All our hotels are situated within 5 minutes walk to the beach, with swimming pools, air conditioning, mini bars and other essentials. In the early evening we have a welcome dinner for your family with traditional Greek dishes. It’s the perfect way to meet the other like minded families, who will be joining this Crete adventure.
Day 2:Sea kayaking: One cannot visit an island without embarking on a sea kayaking mission. Together, we’ll discover the local aquatic life, turquoise coves and the Koules Fortress. There will be many stops to stretch the legs, take pictures and swim. After kayaking the calm sea waters, there will be time to walk around the port city of Heraklion. There are many wonderful shopping streets, museums and cafes to enjoy.
Day 3:Cycling: Crete offers amazing cycling experiences, from small countryside lanes to coastal paths with epic views. Our guests are always in safe hands and led by an experienced biking professional, with a support van following the route. We’ll be stopping for a swim and lunch, and the kids will love the big waves in this seclude bay. In the van, we have surf and body boards.
Day 4:Coasteering: Today, your family will be traversing the coastline, jumping from rocks (small heights) and swimming. Coasteering is the coolest way for thrill seekers to enjoy water and rock climbing at once. You’ll be kitted with helmet and wet suit, ready to take on the Island’s varied coastal terrain. For those that get tired, no problem. Either relax in the sea (float and watch) or we’ll pick you up from the support boat. Coasteering is a staff favourite, so comes highly recommended.
Day 5:Sailing & Balos Lagoon: Sailing is the order of the day, as we master the winds and cruise the beautiful waters. Handle the knots and steer your family west to the most ‘googled’ beach in Greece. It’s a favourite area of all our local tourist guides in Crete, and every year you’ll see VIPS and celebrities on their private yachts. Your family will love Balos white exotic sands, clear and shallow turquoise waters. It’s an ideal place to relax and play for parents & teenagers alike. Beyond the bay at the boundaries of the lagoon, the water are deeper and our guests can use our snorkels.
Day 6:Relax day: Simply relax by the pool or sea for a feeling of total tranquillity. Or we can highly recommend to take a day trip to Santorini, and visit the famous blue top houses of Oia village.
Day 7:Canyoning: Get ready for the ultimate Greek adventure! Take a scenic hike deep into the stunning gorge, where we jump, slip, slide and climb downstream. Expect twist and turns and amazing backdrops. Discover natural springs, powerful falls and stunning aquatic lakes. This is rated highly for teenager activity holidays, with thrilling experiences to be enjoyed. Tonight, we enjoy a 3 course gala meal incl.
Day 8:Time to say our sad goodbyes, and your departure transfer back to your airport.

Hello. If you'd like to chat about this holiday or need help finding one we're very happy to help. Rosy & team.

Responsible tourism

Responsible tourism: Crete family activity holiday, Greece

Environment

It’s part of our company’s philosophy to care for the environment. On arrival each guest is given a guidance pack, to help minimize their impact on the environment: For example, taking short showers, re-using towels, turning off A/C and never littering. It’s important we remain faithful to these policies and therefore we partner with hotels, with this Green attitude.

Our optional activities also include snorkelling and swimming, which are nature based and carbon free. When we do make excursions with ferries or 4x4s into the interiors of Crete, we pay local people for this service.

We try to minimise litter as much as possible and are careful to emphasise that clients should not damage or remove pieces from any ancient sites we visit. As we recruit local staff as well as Crete guides, we can ensure that our activity has a positive effect on the economy and that our clients take away some of their passion and knowledge of Greece.

Our Full time Reps are trained in responsible travel issues and will be able to convey these in our introduction meetings and at the start points of each activity.

Community

Our company believes in responsible tourism meaning that we employ local people and contribute money back into the local economy. 3% of all profits goes into the Balos Lagoon preservation charity, and we ask guests to participate in a charity game - with all proceeds going to a local shelter relief in Chania town. Our suppliers in Crete are truly dedicated about their home island, wishing to preserve its culture and pristine nature. This is communicated to our guests throughout the week as clients are given a deeper knowledge of Crete’s heritage and nature. It’s a strict, no traces policy attitude on all our adventure days.

Usually our local guides take clients to the market on the free afternoons going from Stalida to various nearby towns. This is a great cultural experience where clients can buy their own hand crafted gifts and local oils, hand painted ceramics, jewellery and fruits. Clients can also support the community by purchasing donkey rides, visiting museums and booking more eco friendly day trips.
