Responsible tourism: Laos 10 day tour

On this tour we try as much as possible to use low carbon transport such as boats. There are many reasons for this and sometimes it is because we are traveling through areas that are very delicate and do not need extra traffic or vehicles. We want to preserve as much of the land’s beauty as possible. Our goal during our tours is to have as little impact on the environment as possible.

This tour will take visitors to visit some remote areas in Chiangrai, Houay Xay and Pakbeng,.. and our local teams work hard to make sure our impact on the environment is minimised here. Each small travel group will have their own personal tour guide who will help relay best practice to the guests. The tour guide will then be in continuous contact with the travelers through the duration of the trip and provide necessary information to the travelers, so that they can get the best experience possible from the tour. The information also includes what they need to know about the local ethnic groups that they will be encountering. This will allow the travelers to be respectful to each individual group.

Our goals for our tours include saving gas and emissions as much as possible. We also want to preserve the land from being destroyed. We eat local foods at locally owned restaurant and conserve water as much as possible. Everyone on the tour will try to take a dip in a pool or lake instead of taking a bath or shower. When we are at any of the sites in the area we are very respectful and we take care that nothing is being damaged at any time.

Our travel company takes prides in working with the locals in the areas that we tour. We include them with this tour, so that they can share their lifestyle, culture and traditions with our travelers. When possible, we try to encourage our travelers to purchase their souvenirs from the local shops, in order to help the locals financially.

We also offer our travelers the opportunity to spend time with the locals, for example when we visit the Hmong, Yao and Kmhu ethnic minority villages. This is where we learn about their lifestyle. By visiting the local markets, our travelers are able to learn more about what the locals make and how they make them. We visit the Luang Prabang Night Market during this tour. This is where our travelers will find handmade handicrafts and clothing items. Many of our travelers are always willing to make purchases, especially after the locals have shared information with them. It is always nice to see everyone sharing information about each other.

We support local projects & people through volunteering, fundraising or charity. We work collaboration with NGOs to publish text book for school kids, we have worked most popular cartoon text book and put some funds to publish “Big Brother Mouse”.
