Responsible tourism: France self drive holiday, Bordeaux and the Dordorgne
The trip focus on enjoying nature and the beauty of Bordeaux and the Dordogne valley. All the trips are self-guided in small groups, a couples, group of friends or just a family. This aims to have a more personal and rich experience. We make efforts in giving as much information as possible to the travelers about the region they are visiting. This to ensure that even without a guide, the travelers are aware about the sensitivity of the region they visit. As an example, we plan a visit a to an organic wine producer in Bordeaux.
Because remote area can only be accessible by car, when selecting a car for the road trip, low consumption car are always selected. Nevertheless, once within the region, we provide the traveler with details for hike, walks and where to rent a bike.
To preserve the region, the accommodations staffs are also aware of energy saving, water saving and waste separation.
The tour is designed by a French man who work and live in France. He arrange all the transport and accommodation using local resources. All guides are local and accommodations are owned and managed by local people. We do not use chains.
All the accommodations are in small B&B away from the city centers and from the crowds. They are in the most authentic places. Our B&B have been selected to ensure that you will be able to exchange with you host and meet locals.
Because finding local souvenir can be complicated, we provide the travelers with a list of local souvenir shops. In addition, we provide our travelers with a guide book, including a guide of conduct focused on French culture and faux-pas free.
Travelers are encouraged to visit the cultural and historical sights. To do so our guide book summarize the most renowned sights but also our selection of more intimate and local sights.
