Responsible tourism: Chile and Argentina luxury tour
We believe tourism should be educational and sustainable, as well as entertaining. We designed this trip to contribute minimal impact to the local environment with positive benefits to the local communities.
All guides follow strict “green ethics”. Reusable water bottles are provided in an effort to encourage less waste and discourage the need for plastic throw-away bottles. Guides always practice ‘Leave No Trace’ ethics and give clear and committed instructions for interacting with nature and wildlife with efforts to preserve and leave undisturbed the beauty for generations to enjoy.
All activities and excursions on this trip are ecologically responsible and low-impact. On our Perito Moreno minitrekking excursion for example, we ensure our clients leave only crampon marks and take only photographs. The tour of Iguazu Falls is a walking tour - as low impact as they come and our ‘Four Balconies of Buenos Aires’ tour is also featured as a walking tour.
At Cavas wine lodge the privilege of their rural location comes with the great responsibility of protecting the land for future generations. They have developed a strict environmental policy that includes a commitment to the environment and support and involvement with local communities. Their commitment to the environment includes the following actions: the lodge performs a conscientious treatment of the wastes it generates, by separating, and stockpiling the various kinds of materials that go into local recycle plants; they handle organic waste through a compost process, committing staff in the generation of compost and humus to be used in our organic vegetable garden and vineyards; Mendoza has 320 days of sun a year and by strategically placing solar panels they pre-heat water to 50 degrees saving up to 50% of gas consumption; Cavas Wine Lodge is the first hotel in the region that reuses water from wash hand basins, showers and baths, recycled on-site for landscape irrigation.
Sustainable tourism should improve the lives of local people. This ensures growth to the local economy and support to the community.
Hotels selected for this trip are locally-owned and operated and share our environmental approach and beneficially involve the local people. They practice ethical business standards and are committed to environmental preservation.
