Responsible tourism: Kenya community experience and Masai Mara Safari
We are committed to the following, our team of staff ensure our clients adhere to these as well. • Respect the privacy of the wildlife, this is their habitat. • Beware of the animals, they are wild and can be unpredictable. • Don't crowd the animals or make sudden noises or movements. • Don't feed the animals, it upsets their diet and leads to human dependence. • Keep quiet, noise disturbs the wildlife and may antagonize your fellow visitors. • Stay in your vehicle at all times, except at designated picnic or walking areas. • Keep below the maximum speed limit (40 kph/25 mph). • Never drive off-road, this severely damages the habitat. • When viewing wildlife keep to a minimum distance of 20 meters and pull to the side of the road so as to allow others to pass. • Leave no litter and never leave fires unattended or discard burning objects. • Visitors must vacate the Park between 6.00 p.m. - 6.00 a.m. unless they are camping overnight. Night game driving is not allowed.
We encourage our clients to respect the cultural heritage of Kenya and Tanzania, never take pictures of the local people or their habitat without asking their permission, - Apart from safari we use local guides to do the guiding for our local tours in different parts of the country. - The community at Kitale are working closely with young girls to empower them. Our main goal is to empower this community to be able to be sustainable. -We don't have a specific project at the moment of our own, we support what the local community has in place. At the moment they are working closely with young girls in that particular region. Their focus is making sure the girls stay in school to ensure they build a better future for themselves and avoid early marriage. Sanitary towels are provided for girls who can't afford them. - We respect the cultural traditions of Kenyans and Tanzanians, always dress with decorum. - When visiting local communities, we pay the locals to do the guiding. - We discourage clients giving handouts especially to the children in the community, instead we donate to a local NGO'S or CBO. - For camping safaris in Tanzania and local tours visit, we buy fresh produce from the surrounding community.
