Responsible tourism

Responsible tourism: Tailor made holiday to Argentina, Iguazu Falls and the Guarani people

Environment

This is a journey to the heart of the Argentinean rainforest, with its exuberant biodiversity. Travellers will visit several protected natural reserves. The entrance fees contribute to the maintenance and conservation of these pristine settings. Local guides will advise travellers as to how to minimise their impact on the environment. Some key guidelines include keeping to marked trails and disposing of all waste responsibly and recycling whenever possible.
Travellers will experience the extraordinary beauty of this natural environment: powerful waterfalls, dense jungles, abundant flora and fauna. Useful tips on how to travel responsibly, as well as information on local flora and fauna can also be found in the road book we provide to our travellers.

Fundación Roth: Travellers will have a chance to stay at this ecological centre, part of the “Yerba Mate Route”. Visit the oldest mate mill in the province and learn how organic yerba mate is cultivated, surrounded by countless native trees. An interesting project carried out by the foundation is the Tree Nursery where native trees and medicinal plants are grown organically and later used to reforest the surroundings, especially degraded areas.
On this tour, we work with small hotels run by people aware of their environmental responsibilities.

This is a tailor-made, independent trip; groups are very small, normally comprised of 2 to 4 people, helping to minimise the negative environmental and social impact.

Community

We support local employment and communities in our choice of accommodation, tours, restaurants, etc. This trip is no different from others we provide, in that it encourages real interaction between people while respecting the culture, history and customs of each individual community. This carefully planned itinerary includes several villages along the way, where the traveller can gain insight into the local culture.

Travellers have a chance to spend three nights with local families. In these small communities, they will meet local people, eat local produce and have a truly authentic experience, while at the same time supporting local businesses. One night will be spent at a Guarani village in the rainforest. We always take into consideration the feedback we receive from the local population to try to improve the quality of services in the best way possible.
All travellers are provided with detailed guidelines as to how to travel responsibly. We provide our travellers with a road book with useful information on local culture and customs.

We donate 3% of the total price of this trip to co-fund micro-projects implemented by local schools, associations and ONGs. These are community projects based on education and conservation activities, especially addressed to young people.
