How this holiday makes a difference

Volunteers on these programs assist with the provision of literacy and general education with children ranging from kindergarten and primary ages upwards. Participants working in kindergartens assist the children with a range of basic activities and schooling skills; with those volunteers with more advanced Portuguese assisting in the delivery of more advanced lessons to the older children – in areas such as science, math, and language. The teaching ethos is interactive and engaging, so there is a great range of activities for program participants to get involved. Outside of the program, volunteers have a great opportunity to undertake further travel the region, and Brazil.
