Your accommodation offers: air-conditioning, satellite TV, balcony or terrace, swimming pool and WIFI. Unpack and meet the other family guests & our Croatia activity holiday guides. Tonight we have a fantastic gala meal, let the good times roll and the laughter begin. If you enjoy meeting Like Minded families, this is the trip for you!
Day 2:Sea kayaking & Trogir visit. Starting on a small river tributary, we paddle our way onto the warm aquatic blue sea, which Croatia is famous for. Along the way, your guide will show you the many points of interest, and of course splashing the kids. At the half way point, there's time for swimming & snorkelling. We'll play beach games and keep the teens entertained. The sea kayak tour is a lovely blend of action and relaxation, in theme with the rest of the week ahead. On our return to land, we'll switch to dry clothes and visit the stunning UNESCO town of Trogir. The locals nickname the town as 'The mini Venice'. Truly, its one of the prettiest towns in Europe (not to be missed).
Day 3:Visit Split or (Optional Boat charter & island hop). Today is your free day, as there is much to explore in your local area. Split is only 20 minutes away, and regular buses pass our adventure base. If staying local to your accommodation, Podstrana offers: pedal boats, tennis courts, water assault courses (teen favourite), jet skis, beauty treatments. Or simply relax by the swimming pool (wifi), and take in the panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea. The beach is only a few minutes walk away. For families that want to book more, then its highly recommended to book the optional 'Private Boat charter & island hop' excursion. See the islands, the coastline, jump & dive off the boat in secluded bays, and see Croatia from a unique perspective.
Day 4:Cycling. Follow the river, wind through the green hills of the Dalmatia region and discover rustic villages, waterfalls and old mills. Our biking tour, is a nicely designed route, made for families (and a support van is always available). When we get too hot, we'll find a lovely swim spot and cool off in the pristine river waters.
Day 5:White water Rafting. Today, you'll be rafting through a majestic canyon, on fast flowing white waters, with its pulsating rivers rapids to negotiate. Along the way, there are places to swim and rocks to jump from, guaranteed to put BIG smiles on your children's faces. After an exhilarating rafting experience, we'll dry off and travel to the famous pirate town. Here in Omis, our families have time to explore the Labyrinth of shopping streets, discover some of the best fish restaurants and enjoy the blue flag beaches. For the keen photographer, take a walk to the clifftop fortress.
Day 6:Beach day or (Optional Ziplining). Simply relax around the pool or head to the beach, there is much on offer around the adventure base whether you want action or relaxation. For families that need more thrills for their teenagers, then the 8 x Zipline experience is recommended.
Day 7:Canyoning & Waterfalls. Slide, jump, swim in numerous river rapids, natural plunge pools and waterfalls. This unmissable tour is the perfect encounter with pristine nature, it will transport you to another world. This is nature ‘up, close and personal!’ Standing beneath the 38m high Gubavica waterfall is something you'll treasure forever. This evening, we'll be having our farewell dinner in a lovely authentic taverna, to end the family adventure holiday with a great buzz!
Day 8:Departure day (too soon!). Sadly, we must make our farewells and make your departure arrangements. Post extensions along the coast or on Brac Island are possible. On Brac we have more activities to offer you!

Holiday type
Small group holidays
Small group travel is not large group travel scaled down. It is modelled on independent travel – but with the advantage of a group leader to take care of the itinerary, accommodation and tickets, and dealing with the language. It’s easy to tick off the big sights independently – but finding those one-off experiences, local festivals, travelling markets and secret viewpoints is almost impossible for someone without the insider knowledge gained from years in the field. If you’re heading off on a gap year your, perhaps – but for those with a two-week holiday, a small group tour will save valuable planning time.

The leaders are not guides – they’re not there to shepherd you around. Instead, they’ll let you know which local restaurant serves great value food – without running the risk of travellers’ tummy. They’ll allow you to avoid hour-long queues at train stations and attractions.

We like to think of small group travel as the Goldilocks option. It is independent travel without the fuss, worry and bunk beds – and organised travel without the coaches. And it’s cheaper than a tailor made tour. It’s sits somewhere in the middle – and we think it’s just about right.
What are the main benefits?
Big experiences
Have big, life-enriching experiences that would be impossible to organise without lots of time and insider knowledge.

Simplicity
Make the most of your holiday time by letting someone else do the hard work and boring logistics!

Peace of mind
Small group tours take care of the security aspects – and provide a safety net should anything unexpected happen.
Who is it ideal for?
Travellers who are short of time
If you don’t have three months to spend exploring, small groups trips let you cover more ground in less time. Your days are not spent queuing for tickets or finding hotels – so you can squeeze more into your holiday.

Solo travellers who’d like company
Likeminded travel companions plus peace of mind for those travelling alone. Single supplements are usually available – providing privacy if you want it.

Less confident travellers
Stray from the tourist trail without worrying about getting lost, and meet local people without dealing with the language barrier.
Mythbuster
“I won’t get any privacy!”
Couples and friends have private rooms, and you can choose to eat alone or not. Single supplements give solo travellers their own room.

“There won’t be any free time”
Free mornings or afternoons let you explore on your own, or just relax.

“The accommodation will be basic”
Trips are as high or low end as you like. Though off the beaten track destinations won’t have luxury hotels, this is all part of the adventure.

“I won’t like the other travellers!”
Tour operators try to create groups with a similar demographic – age, families, activity levels... Chances are, you’ll even make new friends.

“Will we be following an umbrella?”
No.
Meet a group leader
As well as taking care of all the day-to-day practicalities, your group leader is the one who will turn your trip into an adventure. Leaders are extraordinary characters – the kind of person who has spent 14 Christmas days on the slopes of Mount Everest, runs marathons wearing tiger suits to raise funds for their conservation and thinks nothing of leading an overland trip in Sudan or Afghanistan. Fearless and inspiring, group leaders are as important as the destination itself.

Meet a local guide
No matter how experienced your group leader, they can never make up for the knowledge gained from a lifetime in the destination. That’s why many of our trips work with local guides around the world – who invite you into their homeland with pleasure. As well as doing crazy things like climbing Kilimanjaro 100 times, they also donate their time to local projects supported by travellers – such as rebuilding Sri Lankan villages following the 2004 tsunami.
“The kids have seen their mums swimming in the rapids, and the mums have seen how good their kids are at jumping around the rocks and stuff. So it is a mutual feeling of being proud for each other.”

Responsible tourism

Responsible tourism: Croatia activity holiday for families with teenagers

Environment

Care of the environment is one of our main concerns; we inherited the unspoiled nature as we want our descendants to enjoy unspoiled nature as we do today. We do our best so that our guests can enjoy unspoiled nature.

We respect the standards of responsible tourism. To decrease the impact to the environment our adventure base re-cycles paper and glass and is also attached to a local biological waste water filter. We use saving light bulbs. We use organic food in a great part. A state agency for clean production has developed a project of waste and energy management for our apartment building. We keep to the guidelines prescribed in the project to minimize the impact on the environment.

Our Adventure base and the tourist board continuously organize cleaning of the rivers, and local coastline. In these activities we include our partners, school children, fishing club, firemen, and the local residents. They educate children in elementary school on the importance of saving the environment. Every year together with our partners we organize cleaning action for the canyoning, trekking and biking paths.

While in nature with our guests our guides take special care not to spoil the pure nature. Besides the professional training our guides are trained to educate the guests on responsible tourism in the local area as well as brief them before every trip to nature. We limit the number of guests on our programs.

Community

We offer employment and jobs to the local people and open possibilities for many small entrepreneurs. We contributed to employment of young people in the tourism sector as well as engage them in sports and help minimize the trend of them leaving to the big cities.

Exchange of cultural heritage enriches us and our guests for new experiences. We treat our guests as friends. The group remains in contact with us and among themselves after they leave. Laughter and friendship are traits of our program. Do make the time to read our reviews!

Our company has a huge impact on the local community. Our guests spend and buy in a way that helps the local economy. The restaurant we use nurture authentic gastronomy and uses small local producers for its suppliers (meat, vegetables, fruit, and food cereals) with special emphasis on naturally grown and native sorts. This way we foster authentic food production and offer healthy food.

All of our Adventure programs include local suppliers (guides, skippers, drivers and local guest houses services, museums, and an archaeological sight) this way we encourage local people to pursue tourism as a new possibility for them.
