How this holiday makes a difference
Environment
The environmental aspects of the camps we use are strictly controlled - lights are gas powered, and the wood we use is wood that is collected (dead wood), so no trees are cut down at all. All refuse is carried out of each and every campsite so we don’t leave an environmental footprint behind.
The group size is kept small (to a maximum of twelve guests) which is perfect for a low-impact safari and to travel to places larger groups can’t.
Community
The staff and guides we use are all from Botswana, providing local employment and so you can gain an appreciation of the Botswanan culture, without making an unwelcome impact on the area you’re travelling through. In addition all staff employed by our local ground agent are from Southern Africa, meaning all money from your stay remains in-country, which is important for Botswana’s development.
Our ground agent also supports three local schools in southern Africa, and an impoverished village. One of the most important aspects of this support is paying for children to go on visits to Kruger National Park, so they not only have some fun but also learn about the environment and how important it is to conserve it for future generations. If you’d like to give a donation to one of these projects, you’ll have the opportunity to do so on your trip.
