Booking this tour without luggage transfer is a more eco-friendly way to do it. Our bike rental offers plenty of solutions from trailers to panniers and handlebar bags for those that will rent a bike from us and also for those coming with their own bike.
For those particularly interested in our stunning natural reserves and national parks we can set up custom tours. We encourage our guests to minimize waste and recycle. We only use recycled paper in our office, the printed material is reduced to the minimum and we often ask for the non-used material back. We have a water saving sink and use low consumption light bulbs.
We also encourage our guests to fix flat tyres and we provide spare tubes. In case they cannot do it we ask for the flat tube back at the end of the trip (in order to fix it ourselves). Our guides follow the rule to leave every place they pass with the group cleaner than before, in both guided and self guided tours we encourage our guest to do the same.
We run self led tours typically from 2 to 6 people to group tours with an average of 14 guests, everywhere we go we have contact with local people, to have a chat with and explain how life in the area is.
Community
This self guided tour has been carefully composed with the important support of local licensed guides, trained by the Environmental Education Project for local workers and drivers. The guiding (with guides or through the booklets we have written) always covers naturalistic aspects together with arts, history and aspects of everyday life. We use, as priority accommodations, very nice, comfortable and friendly family run hotels, B&B's and locandas often located within the historic centre or charming agriturismos with environmental policies such as water and energy saving.
