You will be met on arrival by the trip organizer himself who will give you the information about the tour. On many accommodations you can talk directly to the owner and eat the food made of local ingredients. For the staff at the hotels foreign cyclists are always a welcome visitors. We are the only cycling tour operator in the area, by organizing these tours we also contribute to spreading the idea of different tourism.
Urpo, the founder of the company, was previously working on the construction industry but in the late 90´s there was not so much work on this field in this remote part of Finland. He did not want to move to big city and found out a new direction in his life. He established the company for nature tourism. The first years being naturally rather quiet he is now after ten years of experience realizing that the company employs well himself and also the seasonal guides. The holidays he organizes gives a notable income for the many local suppliers too. Urpo enjoys guiding the trips very much, although the office work takes most of the time nowadays. The company profile has been very clear since the beginning; unmotorized treks in the nature.
Cycling does not cause pollution, it is environmental way to explore new areas. For the luggage transport we are trying to combine other reasons for driving, like other cyclists luggage. One of the accommodation runs also a little bakery. At the same time they transport the cyclists luggage they are delivering the bread and cakes for the people and shops in the area. We are also encouraging clients to arrive by train – the transfers are included also to closest train stations.
As much as we can our office recycles waste and we use recycled products whenever possible.
