Reviews of Sea kayaking holidays in Thailand

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Thai people are friendly, happy and just genuinely playful. The ocean was warm, the jellyfish were incredible and the paddling was the best we've ever encountered. It was particularly exciting to paddle around the limestone islands, through the caves to the amazing hongs. More highlights: camping in a thunderstorm on Tarutao and watching the sleeping pythons in the mangrove trees. And of course, the food! John said it was out of this world and it was!
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Learn some Thai words. Thank you, hello, etc make communicating fun and everyone seems pretty excited by us tourists attempt at Thai words. Pack light. You really don't need much as it's all provided. My other tip would be just do it! Don't hesitate or wait to book the trip - you won't be disappointed.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Absolutely! John helps keep local people employed. They get the opportunity to learn about other countries from tourists and they practice their English. Our trip was hosted by a crew of environmentally friendly people. We kept the ocean clean (even turning back to pick up noticed garbage floating by) and we removed garbage that had washed up from every beach we camped on.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Our absolute best trip before Thailand was a month spent in Africa where we visited 5 countries. Our Thailand trip would be very close, yet second, to that trip.
