1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Riding the snow mobiles over the most beautiful landscape in Nellim and experiencing the true culture of Finnish Lapland has to be the best, but there were so many things that we loved, the Nellim Wilderness Hotel and their staff, the other included tours that we did like the husky safari, cross country skiing, snow shoe walking. Everything has left a special mark on all of us. It's a credit to the operator who listened to what it was that we wanted out of this unique holiday dream and then suggesting just the right things that would make it into a reality.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Take lots of layers, the weather is extreme but it's constantly a battle of hot and cold as you move from inside to outside. Putting the clothes on was the hardest challenge. You feel like you have just had a workout each time you get rugged up to go outside, then it's the battle of getting it off again. But so totally worth it :)
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
It benefits the locals because it gives them work during the winter months and impact on the environment seemed negligible from what I could see.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Loved it, right from the first moment where we started organizing it with the operator (thanks Ali) who made it simply a joy to plan and book with. No question was ever too silly or too much of a problem. Highly recommend them to anyone wanting to book a holiday. The destination itself was magnificent and the hotel and their staff were lovely and made us truly feel at home.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The husky sledding was the most interactive and therefore enjoyable day.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Take good thermal underware.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes the immediate local Lappish economy somewhat. The environment is not specially abused or benefited.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We had a very happy and relaxing time. The local activities (Haariniva) guide Jaako was a particularly motivated, able, caring, patient and sensible guy. The hotel facilities and staff were very good.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The holiday was, quite simply, fantastic and it is difficult to pick "best bits". For me it was simply being outdoors in a very different environment. In addition I liked the fact that although the activities were very much "tasters" the people running them did not patronize or make participants feel ignorant tourists.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Take warm undergarments and approach everything with enthusiasm. You will get far more from activities and the people running them if you show an interest, are prepared to give anything a go and generally involve yourself as much as possible.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Not entirely sure on this one. Clearly, the reindeer and husky farms benefit from tourism as do the hotel, ski centers etc. As to minimizing the impact on the environment?.. . not so sure
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Wonderful. We were a mixed group both in terms of age (13 - 83) and sense of adventure. But there was something for everyone; those who wanted to simply "ride along" and those who wanted to try everything were all catered for. Our guide was exceptional and hit the right balance between being kind and friendly and knowing when to let us have "family time". He was understanding and even handed with the entire group and showed particular sensitivity to my 83 year old Mum. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that, without a few more daylight hours, I cannot feel "reborn"!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
16 year old son - snowboarding lesson booked separately
14 year old daughter - driving her own dog sled
Dad - driving own dog sled
Mum - the fabulous environment
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Don't buy expensive kit everything is provided from socks to snowsuits- take a hat so that you can tell each other apart. A great holiday for families with teenage children- small children would not be able to take an active part in many of the activities and might get cold. Book extra activities for free day before you go if possible to ensure availability.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes - we used local reindeer farmer and local dog breeder/trainer of small family business - excellent service. Most activities were either from the doorstep or very nearby in shared transport.
4. Any other comments?
The best holiday we have ever been on and we would go on another tomorrow! With many thanks to the best guide in the business RAIMO. Thanks and we look forward to our next holiday.
