The houses around the Sacred Valley currently have no toilet facilities of any kind, resulting in pollution of the fields and water supplies and other related health risks. Most of the village inhabitants are subsistence farmers and many augment their income by working as cooks and porters on the Inca Trail and other routes in the area. Villagers expressed a desire for dry composting toilets after hearing about their potential for creating manure, and we are helping them to achieve this. Working alongside members of the community, we will be assembling specially designed compost toilets in an effort to reduce pollution levels in the area.
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
