Environment
Our holidays rely on visiting beautiful and un-spoilt areas, and they don't come more un-spoilt than the wilds of British Columbia. Naturally we wish to maintain the natural settings in which we work, not just for the future of our company, but also for future generations. We always insist that our local providers are equally conscious of this need.
Our holiday starts in Vancouver where guests learn about the conservation of some of the world's last remaining temperate rainforests which maintain such incredible biodiversity in the region. There is also a visit to a refuge for endangered species where guests learn about conservation efforts and come up close to species such as grizzly bears and wolves.
Throughout the time spent on Vancouver Island guests will explore by boat and sea kayak all the time they will be provided with information regarding the landscape and flora and fauna. We feel, as do our activity partners, that this is a vital part of any visit here. All activity providers also operate a strict leave no trace policy.
This holiday also includes some close up encounters with spectacular animals. Guests observe whales and bears in as unobtrusive manner as possible. The knowledgeable guides describe the conservation and protection efforts that take place in the area to ensure the survival of species such as the blue whale and black bear.
We also felt that it is vital to provide guests with an insight into first nation's culture and so we include a visit to the fantastic cultural centre in Whistler which provides a detailed and interactive insight into First Nations and their traditions.
Whistler itself may be a ski resort in the winter but we recognize that the seasonality of holidays in such areas can be hugely detrimental so we are happy to also feature the area in the summer months as well as it provides a vital source of employment in the region.
The final days of this holiday are spent at the remote Chilcotin Ranch. The ranch is family run and has the ultimate respect for it's magnificent surroundings. There is a focus on local produce and the traditions of ranch life.
Community
This family activity holiday is designed to showcase the best of British Columbia's activities and landscapes whilst positively benefiting the local communities and economies. Our local suppliers put a great deal of emphasis on using accommodation and activity providers with well implemented policies regarding sustainability and the environment.
Where possible throughout this holiday we use smaller, locally owned accommodation and always use local activity providers. Our suppliers provide vital employment in rural areas. Throughout the trip we encourage our clients immerse themselves in local cultures and traditions.
Restaurants and meals during activities combine as much local produce as possible. Through the tourism multiplier effect, this all helps to generate incomes and employment where the drift might otherwise be towards larger employment areas such as towns and cities.
The use of smaller businesses means that the tourism income, generated by our presence, stays where it should, in the local economy. We firmly believe in paying a fair price for all the services provided by our suppliers regardless of where they are in the world.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
