This holiday actually takes place in the region's low season. The Rockies and Western Canada are actually an extremely seasonal destination and the prime season is summer. Although we do feature some of the most popular winter ski destinations in this holiday we are utilising the smaller and more unique experiences and avoiding the skiing thus widening the economic benefit to the region.
Environment
The destinations themselves are some of the global leaders in sustainable planning. Whistler Blackcomb for instance has set up environmental and social foundations through which they fund many sustainable projects including those involving the First Nations whose cultural heritage is vitally important to the area. They consistently receive environmental and responsible tourism awards and have a comprehensive policy to enable the reduction of carbon emissions across the whole area.
Sustainability has also formed an integral part of the region's planning for the 2010 winter Olympics where First Nations culture has also been highlighted. The Vancouver 2010 committee has the following sustainability performance objectives which influence the region as a whole.
The founder of this company started as a family summer operator over 10 years ago. When he started adding a few Lapland holidays he was amazed at how popular they were and, avoiding the ski resorts, he set up more snow holidays in privately-owned accommodations in the wilderness. Today, these places are filled every winter with people living the dream - going on husky safaris across frozen lakes and cooking on log fires beneath the glorious Northern Lights. Many visitors book these holidays as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity but find themselves returning again and again, unable to resist the magnificent snowscapes.

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same holiday can have different views!
