Self guided sea kayaking in Croatia

How Self guided sea kayaking in Croatia makes a difference

We work with local guest houses on the islands and we do not take the commission from the local guesthouse owners.

All of our guides are aware of their surrounding and they are constantly providing the travellers with suggestions of how to minimize potential negative impacts to the environment and marine ecosystems. Our guides emphasize on the importance of leaving the environment as it is. We observe marine life but we do not disturb it.

Our kayaks are made of recyclable plastic. They do not cause any form of air or water pollution and they do not produce noise that could be disturbing for marine life.

We suggest that our travellers visit historically, culturally and environmentally important sights (Old Town of Dubrovnik, Renaissance villas on the island of Sipan, Nature Park Lokrum).

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Kayaking into Slobdanovic

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be prepared to put in hard work for 2-3 hours a day but it'll be worth it to see the stunning views and enjoy the beaches and bays.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes. We were able to spend money in places which wouldn't see that many tourists normally.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

9 out of 10. An unprecedented success, with one of the nicest local family run businesses out there. The family were incredibly accommodating and were always helping us

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Kayaking around Sipan close to the imposing rocks, caves and arches. Truly memorable.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

You may have to put your own kayak onto and off ferries so pick a light one. When the operator gives you the mobile phone make sure you learn how it works. All the messages are in Croatian. I had to ask a barman to unlock it for me.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Definitely. We stayed in small guesthouses or camped and ate local meals. Many of the locals make their own wine which we were able to purchase (or get free in some cases!!!). Kayaking has to be the most environmentally friendly way of travelling.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

A really good break which allowed us to kayak extensively each day, at our own pace and with lovely overnight rests in a variety of different places. Excellent maps were provided by the operator and we had frequent updates where accommodation had changed. Additionally the operator was willing to change location for overnights at our request as well.
